New category: Use your words

As this blog has grown I’ve noticed that I post a lot about writing, journalism and typography, so I’ve created a new category called: Use your words. This replaces the ‘Good books’ category (I had originally planned to write occasional book reviews here, but that clearly doesn’t merit an entire section).

The table of contents has also been updated:

  1. Shape of things to come“Remember, my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future.”
  2. Life on the InternetOnline culture.
  3. Humans and other animalsOf, relating to, or characteristic of people or human beings.
  4. AestheticsPosts about nice things.
  5. Light-based mediaPhotography, cinematography, animation and computer games.
  6. Use your wordsWriting, journalism and typography.
  7. MiscellanyThings that don’t quite fit into any of my other boxes. Yet.

I’m really happy with how this blog has evolved. It’s just a little side project, but browsing through the archives of 230 posts (and counting) is quite gratifying for me. With just over 120 followers this isn’t the most popular blog I run, but it’s one of my favourites. Thanks for following along!

This April Rapid Notes will hit its first anniversary and I’m thinking about paying WordPress.com to remove ads and get some customisation features. I may also attach a domain I’ve been sitting on for years and rebrand things. We’ll see!
